This time of year is always very exciting (and exhausting) for all involved in kindergarten. I am very excited to get to know this new group of penguins. We began this week by discussing our hopes for the year and creating our class rules. This group turned a long list of "no....." into a great promise for the year.

We read several good books,
Sergio,
Tacky the Penguin, and
Dex the Heart of a Hero, being a few of our favorites.
In math we are exploring the materials we will be using. We will be taking a close look at shapes and building number sense.
We are also beginning to build our reading muscle. Students are working on Read-To-Self, using favorite books from home and class books.
Of course the most fun is getting to know one another!
