Puff Mobile and Wonder Time

We really enjoyed having the opportunity to make puff mobiles.  We worked together using straws, paper, life saver (wheels) and tape to make a mobile that moves on wind power.  After planning out our design, we built it, tried it and then made adjustments.

During our wondering time, students read, write, build, and create things they are interested in.  Here is a small clip of what it looks like.

Totem Pole Update

Our totem pole is complete!  Here is what it looks like outside of our classroom. We also wrote our class story to go with it!

Scientist observe

We are working on slowing down and taking a closer look at things.  We are also working on recording our observations.

Scientist

Scientists explored their sense of smell.  They recorded if they liked the smell and then they tried to figure out what it was.

The Color of Us

Apple Orchard Fun

We had a beautiful day to spend at the apple orchard.  In "Apple School" we learned that the orchard had 16 different kinds of apples and what happens during each season at the orchard.  We also learned that  they rent bees to help pollinate the trees and it takes 32 apples to make one container of apple cider.  These were just a few of the questions we had wondered about before we went on the trip. Here are a few pictures of us enjoying the day!
