Word Building

We love word building!

First we count the sounds. Then we stretch the sounds as we build the word.  Sometimes we use small letter cards  to build the words.  

This is the -ap word chunk.  We can use it to build many words.  

When we add a beginning sound we get a word.   

We can change the beginning sound to make a new word.   The two words rhyme. 

 

This is a challenge word.  It has a smaller word in it. Can you see it? 

PTO Program

This week we the PTO sponsored the Virginia Opera's Pirates of Penzance.  We all enjoyed the program, but many of us do not want to be pirates!

Quiet Time Activities

Quiet time allows students to explore materials that we will use in upcoming lessons, finish work, or read from their book boxes.  Sometimes they find new ways to use the materials!
