  This week our Literacy rotations are in full swing!  Children spend time working on writing, working with letter sounds, reading with Mrs. Z and reading to self.  We will be adding listening to reading next week.

Sept. 10-14

This week our letters are F and N. Students will hunt for these letters in nursery rhymes and practice good handwriting skills.  In math will be sorting objects, pictures, and fruit loops! We will talk about what we know and what we would like to know about the flag.     Thank you to all the parents that came out to Back-To- School Night!

Sept. 4-7

This week we will be working on the letter sounds of Tt and Bb.  In Math we will be counting collections of objects.  We will sequencing and identifying numbers 1-15.  We will sort objects based on attributes.  We will add money (the penny) to our calendar routine.  In Social Studies we will talk about community helpers.   We will be "Getting to Know" each student.  If you have not sent in your "All About Me Poster", please do so by Friday.

First Weeks of school

Our Classroom for the 2012-2013 year!





We have been very busy getting to know one another.  We have worked together to develop our Penguin Promise.  We have begun to implement our literacy Daily 5 with read to self and work on writing.  In math we have been exploring the "tools" we will be using this year. Next week we will begin to work on letters and letter sounds.
